To legally marry in Australia, you must follow these steps...
Are you able to be legally married?
Generally to marry in Australia you must be over the age of 18 and not be already legally married. If you are married now we can still plan your ceremony but you must have received confirmation that you are no longer married before the ceremony date
The first step – the NOIM
In accordance with the Marriage Act 1961 the Notice of Intended Marriage form must be completed no later than one month prior to the ceremony and no more than 18 months before.
After our initial consultation and your booking confirmation we will complete the NOIM.

This can be done with me or can be downloaded and completed to be returned with original copies of your ID for me to sight and copy for my records.
Planning the ceremony
Over as many or as few meetings, emails and phone calls as you need we will work together to write a ceremony that tells your story how you want it to be told.

Want something simple? I have an extensive library of readings, vows, poetry and music. I am adept in putting
together flowing “mix and match” ceremonies.

Something more flambouyant? YES!  Lets get into it and really make your ideas a reality

Either way, each ceremony is an individual piece of art and after getting to know you as a couple we will develop the ceremony to reflect and honour who you are.

You can include whatever you wish; chosen customs, traditions, themes, ideas – it will be 100% your ceremony to do as you wish.

On the day you require two witnesses to legally witness the ceremony and sign the offical documents.
They can be just involved for the legal signing of the documents or you may like them to be more involved in the ceremony.   We can include them in the planning process to ensure they are aware of their obligations and know what they are going to be doing on the big day.

Rehearsal Run Through
I like my couples to have a rehearsal run through at my home in addition to the venue to avoid any confusion on the day.  We would talk through the entire ceremony and have a read through.  Experience has taught me that by speaking through the ceremony together it takes away some of the on the day nerves and ensures the ceremony is the best it can be.  If you wish to keep your actual vows private until the day we can do these on a “one on one” basis also.  Additionally, for any FIFO or overseas parties I am happy to run through this part by Skype / Facetime with you
On The Big Day
On the day I will be there to guide you through the ceremony.  I will also ensure all legal paperwork is fully completed. You will be presented with a beautiful copy of your Marriage Certificate.  I will lodge your marriage with BDM within 14 days of the ceremony.

My process will guide you through all of these steps and take care of all your legal requirements.
